ScentVR consists of:
- ESP32 microcontroller (the brains)
The ESP32 is a powerful Wi-Fi enabled microcontroller which handles all the control, timing and Wi-Fi integration
The ESP32 module is FCC certified with certifications found here: Certificates | Espressif Systems
- Custom controller board and fan drivers, protections, HMI and input
- Scent Modules modeled for the exact flow rate needed to accurately disperse scents in to the room for maximum immersion in to your VR system
- OLED display with fan status and control web page address (input the IP in to any browser on your network and control ScentVR from within VR). It also displays the current user setpoint for the scent modules
- Web interface which can pause/run the ScentVR if you need to take a break. You can also enable a “boost” mode here.
- Multi function Input knob which is used to change the fan intervals to the user preference.
- Master power Switch
- 5 volt power supply
All of this is enclosed in a custom designed enclosure created here in the lab. Enclosure is currently 3D printed for rapid iteration and continued improvement of the product. This also allows us to remain close to our users so they can also produce their own parts/components/upgrades without the need for proprietary equipment.
